Analysis of influencing factors on service life of cone-broken liner

How long can the dynamic cone liner and fixed cone liner be used? How much thickness wear should be replaced? 

In the cone crusher, the crusher cavity is formed by the cavity between the two lining plates, which can be broken by the swinging of the moving cone to change the space shape of the crusher cavity. The fixed cone lining plate and the moving cone lining plate are the main wear-resisting parts which contact the material directly. Wear and tear is inevitable after a period of use.

Based on Cruston's field application experience and on-site customer investigation, it is found that in general, the dynamic cone liner and the fixed cone liner for cone breaking are different according to the user's working conditions and material physical characteristics, it can be used for 40 days to 18 months (for example, the linings of a Santer CH660 model in a mine-dressing company in Luoyang can be used for 40 to 50 days) . At present, the hardness (or silicon dioxide content) of the treated material is the most important factor affecting the lining life. But under the treatment of the same material, which factors will affect the life of the liner is our main problem today: in general, there are two factors that affect the crushing effect and service life of moving and fixed cone liner: the first is the use of reason, the second is the product itself.

The field service reason that affects the service life of moving cone and fixed cone liner.

1、 Crushing stone powder content and crushing material humidity

If the stone powder content and the humidity of the crushed material are high in the cone crusher station, it will be easy to stick to the moving cone liner and the fixed cone liner when the crushed material is broken, it not only reduces the production efficiency, but also corrodes the moving cone liner and the fixed cone liner, and reduces its service life. For the material with high stone powder content, before crushing, it should pass through a sieve first, so that when crushing, it can avoid the situation of excessive fine powder; for the material with high humidity, before crushing, some measures should be taken to reduce the moisture content, such as natural drying or mechanical drying.

 2. Feeding method

The feeding mode of cone crusher also has some influence on the service life of moving cone liner and fixed cone liner. 

(1) if the feeding device of the cone crusher is not installed properly, it will lead to uneven feeding, make the fixed cone lining board of the moving cone lining board bear too much force on one side, increase the cutting wear of the ore to it, and make the lining board seriously damaged, service life will be greatly reduced, especially single cylinder cone crusher, because its fixed cone liner can not adjust the direction, feeding bias will lead to liner life even only 1/3 of the normal. 

(2) the different granularity of Crusher will also shorten the service life of liner, if the crusher feed stone is too big, it will increase the operating pressure on the crusher motor cone and fixed cone liner, if the crusher feed stones are too small, the moving cone and fixed cone liner under part of the operation pressure is too large, so that the liner wear increased, greatly reducing the use of liner length. When the crusher feed material is too big or too small, whether it is soft materials or materials with high hardness will cause different degrees of damage to the liner, therefore, the cavity shape of the equipment must match the feed size of the equipment. 

(3) when the movable cone and the fixed cone liner don't match the cavity type, the liner may break or become loose and invalid because of the uneven load during the crushing process. The mismatch of the cavity type will also cause the production capacity of the crusher to decrease.

The reasons of product quality that affect the service life of moving cone and fixed cone liner

1、 raw material selection of liner: the moving cone liner and fixed cone liner of cone crusher in the market are usually made of high manganese steel. The main components of high manganese steel include carbon (C) , manganese (Mn) , and chromium (Cr) . This combination of components makes the surface of high manganese steel work hard when it is under strong impact, further improving its wear resistance. Therefore, the high manganese steel is the ideal material for manufacturing the moving cone lining plate. It can maintain stable performance under all kinds of harsh working conditions and extend the service life of the equipment. The raw material usually selected is ZGMn13,ZGMn13Cr2,ZGMn18,ZGMn18Cr2,ZGMn21Cr2. 

2、Heat Treatment of liner: the cast high manganese steel liner needs water toughening treatment. The high manganese steel after water toughening has the characteristics of working hardening and good toughness and no crack. The key of water toughening treatment is the control of heating temperature (1050-1100 ° C, 1 hour per 25mm wall thickness) , water inlet speed, cooling water quantity, etc. .

With the development of science and technology, the properties of wear-resistant materials are also improving. On the whole, choose the material which can harden the surface rapidly under the impact load, and form the surface which is both hard and wear-resistant, and still keep the original toughness of the inner metal, only in this way can the service life of moving cone and fixed cone liner be increased.

3、Casting quality of liner: a good quality wear-resistant liner, the casting has very high requirements, the casting after production is not allowed to have cracks and affect the performance of slag inclusion, sand, cold insulation, porosity, shrinkage porosity, lack of meat casting defects. 

4、the machining precision of liner: the shape and size of the liner cast may not meet the requirements, so it needs to be machined. Because the liner of cone crusher is conic fit, the size of the fit is higher, if the processing size of the liner conic is not qualified, it will greatly reduce the contact area of the conic, in the course of crushing, the lining board is loosed and cracked, which seriously affects the service life of the lining board. These are some common problems that we encounter in ordinary use. The specific preventive measures and processing methods may vary according to the type of equipment and the characteristics of the materials. In actual operation, corresponding measures should be taken according to the concrete situation.
